I’ve been playing the classic adventure game Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars for the first time and it has really inspired me. It’s the first adventure game I’ve played where I haven’t felt frustrated or cheated at some point or another (I unfortunately can’t say the same for Broken Sword 3 & 4). That’s so important and something I’m really striving for in my game. Adventure games should be logical and accessible. The story should flow gracefully through its ups and downs and you should always feel like you’re getting closer to the answers you seek. Grinding a game to a halt with a disjointed shape/math puzzle isn’t something I’d ever condone.
